New York City is a creative powerhouse, but when it came to the game industry, something was missing.
There was no single place where game developers, players, studios, and industry leaders could connect, collaborate, and grow together. New York City hosts a thriving but fragmented game‑development ecosystem, with over 200 studios, academic programs, non‑profits, and meet‑ups operating in parallel. Information about jobs, events, and resources is scattered across dozens of newsletters, Discord servers, and spreadsheets.
That’s why we built this site: a central hub for NYC’s game scene. Whether you’re making games, playing them, publishing them, or cheering them on, you’re part of what makes NYC a future-forward gaming city.
This is more than a website. It’s a launchpad for the city’s gaming culture. A place to share events, resources, job opportunities, meetups, and stories from every corner of the five boroughs. From indie devs in Brooklyn to esports crews in the Bronx, we’re here to spotlight and support the full spectrum of game-making talent that calls New York home.
NYC deserves to be on the map as a world-class game development city. Together, we’re making that happen.
Let’s build the next generation of games, the NYC way.

This site is made possible by the efforts and optimism of:
New York City Economic Development Corporation is a mission-driven, nonprofit organization that works for a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers. We take a comprehensive approach, through four main strategies: strengthen confidence in NYC as a great place to do business; grow innovative sectors with a focus on equity; build neighborhoods as places to live, learn, work, and play; and deliver sustainable infrastructure for communities and the city’s future economy. To learn more about what we do, visit us on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
We are a global network of collaborative communities and individuals from all fields of game development, including programmers and producers, designers and artists, writers, business people, QA team members, localization experts, and everyone else who participates in the game development process. The NYC chapter of IGDA operates to benefit developers in the greater New York City metropolitan area.
Playcrafting’s goal is to galvanize the careers and portfolios of the developers in our network. At Playcrafting, we work to bring paid opportunities to our developers, events, resources, and education. We bring curated projects and events to developers to give them an opportunity to easily work with big brands and new and emerging tech. Playcrafting also hosts PLAY.nyc, New York’s premier gaming convention that focuses on indies and small studios.
